On the Road Again and Offline
Blog announcement: I'll be traveling abroad with the Sibling for the next few days. I don't know how frequently I'll have Internet access, but I'll be taking my faithful laptop along -- this is a working vacation!
If I do find good Internet access, I'll photoblog a little along the way. If not, I'll post photos when I come back.
Meanwhile, perhaps you will consider a break from the blogosphere to curl up in a comfy warm chair and read a good book, like something from my holiday reading list.

I'm flying British Airways -- which has a very nasty habit of misplacing or delaying my luggage...though admittedly US Airways' record with my bags is even worse. Moral of the story: always put your indispensable, must-have items in your carry-on!)
PS: By the way, have you checked the foreign currency rates lately? I checked again this morning and almost fainted. The pound is trading at $1.96 and the euro at $1.32. (Accursed, rotten, miserable euro! With apologies to Melville, let me just say: O monetary miasma spawned of Brussels, from hell's heart I stab at thee!) I am absolutely going to redefine the term "impoverished graduate student" on this trip. Is it possible to survive an entire trip eating nothing but sandwiches? *whine* Then again, I so love traveling that I don't think I'll mind once I get there! Of course, since I was a pig during Christmas, I guess I do need a bit of a diet now for the New Year. *wink*
