It's Memorial Day weekend -- the unofficial start to summer!
I'll be indulging in various forms of decadence such as fun movies, chatting with friends, eating ice cream, and shopping for the Elusive But Perfect Pair of Cute Yet Comfortable Summer Sandals. Hooray!
I would be terribly remiss, though, if I didn't point out also the history and purpose of Memorial Day.
And if you are musically inclined, there is the annual National Memorial Day concert, hosted by Gary Sinise and Joe Mantegna, big-hearted actors who are involved in various veterans' charities.
Also, sharp-witted Scrappleface has a poignantly piquant comment. It's closely connected to this.
