Here is the follow-up to a recent post on the flap over Google's mapping service calling Taiwan a "province of China."
Google's now dropped any political label and so it sidesteps the whole issue. Now if you search for the island on Google's maps, you'll get the name "Taiwan" instead of "Taiwan, province of China."
I find this whole name game amusing in a way . . . and I also now have "Istanbul, Not Constantinople" playing in my head! Look, as long as the maps don't say "Chinese Taipei," I'll be happy.
