The Times of London just reported that Chinese is the fastest growing ethnic group in England.
I quote the numbers from the report: "the Chinese community in England grew at 11 per cent a year between 2001 and 2003, faster than any other ethnic group."
Many of these Chinese are students going to the UK for school. Very cool!
(I must confess: on my last trip to London, after a few days of British food I was SO HAPPY to go to the Chinese neighborhoods and eat some good old-fashioned dim sum and stir-fried dishes. I like "bangers and mash" as much as the next person, but sometimes a Taiwanese stomach cannot be denied. Oh, and if you're ever in London, remember that ethnic food is a lot more affordable -- Chinese, Indian, etc. Affordable, and delicious.)
