The 2005 International Religious Freedom Report has just been released by the U.S. State Department. Guess which nations are topping the list of countries that are the worst in the world for crushing religious freedom:
| The 2005 report redesignates Burma, China, Eritrea, Iran, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Vietnam as "Countries of Particular Concern" (CPC) for severe violations of religious freedom |
Go read the entire thing.
Notice that the report lists China twice -- one is "China--includes Taiwan only" and one is "China --includes Tibet, Macau, and Hong Kong." Go compare and contrast, gentle reader. Hint: only one of those has the following attached to it: "The authorities' policy and practice contributed to the generally free practice of religion. There were no reports of religious prisoners or detainees. "
